Round Eight of Celebrity Cricket Fishing and Lewis Read literally didn’t stop eating
Anyone for a cuppa? CARPology’s “carpiest” drinking vessel to date is now in stock. And to celebrate we’ve put on some outstanding deals. P108.
“What’s all the fuse about? It’s easy!” Angus catching whilst we all blanked on our return visit to CEMEX Angling’s Ringland Lake.
Hit Canada this month. Geezer did well, taking the Cherry Common, Patch and Smudge. Result, bearing in mind the St. Lawrence is 800-miles long!
Surprise! Brilliantly, we stole the memory card. Unprintable ones available on request. Dave Sykes (sibling of Sir Keith) on his stag do.
Spent the day loving our new custom-made rods from Free Spirit. Bell still to hit a deadline.
Bombed over to Leicester to do some filming for the new Free Spirit DVD’s (out late summer). Home in time for the final of Britain Got Talent?
Biddus happy. Sharpy clearly in shock. More on page 48.
Hughesy donned the wet suit once again for this month’s Below The Surface feature. He’s still weeing himself, though. P56.
Darren, Dan our designer’s best mate, picked the worse week in history to go angling for his stag do – there was a frost every morning! Good luck with the wedding, though, mate!
This month’s CARPology is a particularly super eye-opening, floater fishing edition. Top of the list is the incredible Below The Surface, which quite rightly seems to get the “Feature of the Month’ award every issue. I would like to state which is my favourite part of this mind-blowing feature, but the two topics we covered are equally as good and have really opened my eyes – and most importantly, will definitely catch me more fish – the same as it will you. Not only have we looked at what a carp sees whilst you’re stood on the bank, but also when you’re up a tree, Rob has also managed to capture images of how our floater tackle looks from below. The verdict can be found on page 56.
Keeping with the floater theme, Myles Gascoyne gives you some alternative advice, whilst we show you the ultimate floater fishing knot and Jason Hayward tells all about his never-ending, never-fall-off surface baits. It’s a clever trick. P26.
And then elsewhere Pete Castle (P32) reveals how he takes those incredible snaps – and how you can do the same – almost on your cameraphone... James Anderson tests out Trent Baits boiled food (P74), Nigel Sharp shows you how you can catch an original Yateley carp (P48) and we take on Gardner Team on our home turf in Celebrity Cricket Fishing (P40).
Oh, and not forgetting we give Fox’s ‘Mags’ a test run, try to break Korda’s new hooks (we failed), show you Sharpy’s pop-up tips and how Thinking Tackle (that’s Korda’s TV series) is made.
Enjoy the issue…
