Avid Carp Stormshield range

Avid Tackle’s new range of waterproof luggage keeps the weather firmly locked out

Avid aren’t messing about with their vastly expanded Stormshield range. This isn’t water-resistant, or splash-proof, or partially weather-sealed, this is full-fat, flat-out waterproof. The range originally consisted of a couple of roll-top bags designed to stuff kit into on European boat adventures, but its popularity has seen the flurry of new items you see on this page (and more) – and it all looks rather tasty.

Stormshield Carryall

If you want your kit to stay dry, even when left outside during a no-frills overnighter or on a windswept boat trip across a French reservoir, then this carryall is up to the task. It boasts a roll-top design that securely fastens with oversized clips and has a detachable waterproof inner pocket that can be used to house your phone, wallet and keys. It measures 58cm long, 30cm wide and 35cm high, so there’s plenty of room inside.

Stormshield Rucksack

Built on the same hydrophobic principles as the carryall, this rucksack won’t let a drop of moisture touch its contents. Again, the roll-top design is in place to keep everything weather-sealed and you get a detachable inner pocket for valuables. Even the shoulder straps are waterproof, but there’s an outer mesh pocket for items you might need in a hurry.

Stormshield Tackle Roll

Cleverly designed to store all your rig tools and items of terminal tackle in a space-saving manner, this rugged little organiser unfurls to present your most-used bits in an accessible way. Use the hook to clip it to a bivvy rib and you’ll never fumble around for your baiting needle or fresh hooks again. Like the rest of the Stormshield range, it’s completely waterproof and looks like it’ll take plenty of abuse on the bank.
