Banana Rods Vectrum X Light Rod
Beauty with more than a bit of beast in its nature that promises to make range casting available to all
You know Banana Rods, right? The French company taking the high-end carp rod market by stealth? They’re not everywhere yet, but those in the know wouldn’t use anything else now. These are premium tools; a far cry from the cheap far-eastern imports that continue to flood our market. Banana produces all the blanks in its French HQ, and is constantly pushing the limits of what we thought possible with carp rods.
The Vectrum X Light is testament to that ambition, and skill that drives Banana. It’s a crisp, slim wand of a rod that’s actually been designed to go loooooong. Rather than produce an unusable broom handle, Banana went the other way entirely, producing a rod that we can ALL compress, which is key to reaching our casting potential. That action, of course, leads to a supremely pleasurable playing experience.
Banana still rates the Vectrum X Light as having a, “Fast, powerful action”, but it’s certainly a fishing rod, rather than a casting tool. This is achieved by building a blank from scratch that’s made from no less than five high-modulus carbons. Banana doesn’t let us in on the exact blend that makes the Vectrum range such an advanced set of fishing rods, but it’s safe to say that they’re something a little special.
To cap it all off, you can have your Vectrum X Lights made up to your exacting spec, with a whole host of build choices available on the Banana Rods website. Choose from an impressive range of whipping colours, reel seats, rings and ringing to really give your tools that custom feel. So, this might well have been the first you’ve heard of Banana Rods, but believe us when we tell you, it certainly won’t be the last!
