Cast Away Cancer 2016
This year's Cast Away Cancer event takes place from the 8th to the 10th April - here's everything you need to know...
The annual Cast Away Cancer event will take place from 8-10th April 2016. This is Cast Away Cancer’s third event and after raising £23,000 so far for Macmillan Cancer Support since the charity was founded in 2014; the organisers are confident this year will be another huge success. Packington Fisheries Broadwater Carp Syndicate will again be the hosts and the event takes the form of a 48 hour carp match where 20 anglers will participate. This year the person who raises the most amount of sponsorship money will fish with Darrell Peck for the duration of the match. Joe Turnbull, Chris Appleby and Jimmy Hibbard will also be providing tuitions throughout the weekend.
On Saturday 9th April at 1pm, the gates will open to the public where you will be able to join the organisers and participants for a fundraising BBQ and the chance to win many prizes throughout the afternoon. You will also have the opportunity to pick the brains of Darrell, Joe, Chris and Jimmy as they will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
For the second year running one of our main sponsor's Trakker will be in attendance and will showcase a selection of their bivvies, brollies, shelters, beds, sleeping bags, luggage and more. Fosters of Birmingham will be supporting the event again and will have many offers throughout the weekend.
It’s sure to be another brilliant weekend raising money for the fantastic charity that is Macmillan Cancer Support. The organisers of Cast Away Cancer have been working extremely hard behind the scenes and would like to thank everyone for their support so far and look forward to seeing some new and familiar faces throughout the duration of the event.
