Catch 22 Fishing Centre raises £1182 for the British Heart Foundation

A 24 hour fishing match has raised over £1,000 to go towards lifesaving research...

A group of dedicated fundraisers from Norfolk have raised a phenomenal £1182 by holding a 24 hour fishing match and raffle to support the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) lifesaving research.

Catch 22 Fishing Centre held a 24 hour fishing match on their Day Ticket Lake. Fourteen teams of two took part in the event and afterwards a raffle was held to raise money.

The Catch 22 Fishing Centre has supported the nation’s heart charity for the past three years. This is the second time they held the fundraiser and the money raised will help the BHF fund even more lifesaving research.

Every three minutes someone loses their life to heart and circulatory disease which devastates the lives of those they leave behind. Thanks to the public’s generosity, BHF is funding research central to discovering vital treatments for people living with these conditions.

David Wilby, who organised the event, said “We’re delighted to have raised an incredible £1,182 for the BHF’s life saving research. It was an amazing weekend with lots of people coming together to fight heart disease, so thank you to everyone who made it a success.”

Every pound raised by BHF fundraising groups helps fund ground-breaking discoveries and identify new treatments that could help save more people from the devastating effects of heart disease.

Dawne Hart, BHF Fundraising Manager for Norfolk, said: “We’re so grateful to Catch 22 Fishing Centre for their continued support and for raising another fantastic amount of £1182 For the BHF. Their incredible energy and enthusiasm is helping us beat heartbreak forever, and we would like to say a huge thank you to them for their on-going support.

“There are around 7 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory disease and thanks to Catch 22 Fishing Centre we’ll be able to fund even more research into these conditions.”

Why not start fundraising for the BHF at your workplace or volunteer in your community. It’s a great way to meet new people and help beat heartbreak forever.
