COOKING UP A STORM
The Double Grill Pan from NGT has several clever features that gives you the ability to cook pretty much any culinary delight while on the bank
CARPOLOGY: Several pans of this style are available on the market, but how does this one differ from the others you’ve used?
LUKE VENUS: “1. The extra depth allows for far more flexibility in terms of what you can cook in it. 2. The silicone seal prevents the outside of the pan from resembling a greasy teenager’s face. 3. And the little hole at the back of the pan cleverly allows a single exit point for the steam rather than it coming out of all sides!”
CARPOLOGY: How impressive was the non-stick coating?
LUKE VENUS: “Put it this way: I left my bacon unattended, which ended up in a cremation ceremony (RIP Peppa). A two-second wipe-down returned it to as good as new! It’s been thoroughly used and abused since, and the coating is still holding strong, with no signs of peeling—or last month’s dinner!”
CARPOLOGY: How tight do the two pans close together?
LUKE VENUS: “Oh, so tight, and that’s thanks to its clever silicone seal that runs the perimeter of the pan. This seal not only stops liquid from seeping out when flipping the pan but also prevents heat from escaping, almost giving the effect of a portable oven!”
CARPOLOGY: In terms of the size, it’s pretty big at 28 x 22 x 7cm, but could you give us an example of what would fit inside it?
LUKE VENUS: “I was genuinely impressed with how much you could fit into this! Since using this, I’ve cooked all manner of things, such as bacon sarnies, nachos, paninis, and fajitas—I even warmed up the previous night’s pizza! There was easily enough room for a full meal, or even two if you were cooking on a social.”
