5 top tips to catch more this winter from Rob Hughes
Five must-do’s from our human carp equivalent, Rob Hughes
1 “Use something bright and smelly but not much of it. Just a bit of smell and sight is more than enough. You don’t want to feed ‘em, you want to catch them!”
2 “Cast more than you think you should… the chances are you are still not casting enough even if you do. I use 10m of stocking mesh on day when it was fishing well. That’s about 100 casts in an 8hr session.”
3 Make the effort. Crowie wrote an inspirational piece about effort that really made me try harder and you know what… it worked. Get off your butt!”
4 Try liquidising some bread and putting it into your Stick mix. It’s an awesome carrier of flavour as it’s so dry and a brilliant addition to any winter mix.”
5 “Slacken ‘em down and turn the sensitivity up. Fishing for liners is a brilliant way to find out where they are, but make sure you use the info they’re giving you.”
