Do backleads actually pin your line down?
Our underwater expert Rob Hughes explains...
The thoery
The carp in your lake are really line shy (which carp aren’t these days?) so you want to use a backlead to pin it down to the lakebed, but do they do the job as we expect?
The facts
“Backleads will only pin your line to the bottom if there is a clear line lay between the backlead and the main lead,” states Rob Hughes. “Any weed or obstacle will cause the line to lift up and create a zigzag in your main line that will almost certainly affect your indication. Backleads are great when used properly but most of the time they are not.”
