Fox Black Label Mini Swingers

Smaller, neater and cleverer. That’s the best way to summarise Fox’s new Black Label Mini Swinger...

When something has been around for 25 years, we think it is fair to say it has stood the test of time, basically the entire era of modern day carp fishing in fact! Fox brought in their original swingers over a quarter of a century ago now, and despite the fact they’ve had a number of serious revamps over the years, in many ways the basic mechanics and benefits remain very much the same as they did when they revolutionised bite indication all those years ago. No more poor indication from monkey climbers; no more false bleeps from wind knocking the line around; the swinger was born, and we’ve never looked back! So what has changed…?

1 Smaller, neater, lighter, tighter
The new Mini Swinger has a shorter arm than all previous versions, 45mm and 40% smaller in fact than the incredibly popular MK3. There has been an undoubted drift towards smaller, neater bobbin and indication systems over the last few years and this new addition fills that gap in the swinger range perfectly. The tighter arc also means more defined indication.

2 Whatever the weather
Swingers have always been popular because of their adaptability, and the Mini Swinger covers those bases with the option to screw in extra weights for range fishing or to counter wind. Because of the double pivot on the arms and a strictly vertical movement range, wind doesn’t affect them at all, so if the bobbin is at the top, you know you’ve got one on!

3 Adapt and overcome
No one system quite covers all, so the Black Label range has catered for that by allowing full adaptability and interchangeable parts. The Black Label Hockey Stick thread allows for this. Suddenly find yourself fishing overseas in a monster wind? Simply change over to the quiver for maximum tension at range. Out down the local estate lake at the weekend? Screw in a dinky little bobbin and cord system for slack line margin life. There’s even a titanium arm option if you’re feeling especially fly and want to shave extra weight.

4 Style AND substance
Add it up. We spend a lot of hours looking at our rod set-ups right? So not only does it need to be absolutely functional and efficient, but it is also great when it looks good too. Form and function are the two design imperatives, and Fox has been fulfilling both those for years. Sleek heads in seven colour choices, matt black anodised arms and weights make the Mini Swinger as stylish as anything out there.

5 Added extras
For those that like to customise, the Black Label range allows for plenty of alternatives; colour changes, different bobbin heads, line clips, carry cases… it is all there and waiting for you to put it together however you like to make your indicator system your own.
