Fox Camo FX Super Deluxe Recliner & more
Make sitting on the bank more ‘king-on-his-throne’ than ‘tramp-in-cardboard-box’ with new Camo FX Super Deluxe Recliner from Fox: a fully adjustable, well-padded ergonomic mattress-covered guest chair
If like us, here at CARPology, you relish the thought of not only having the ultimate bedchair but a matching guest chair, then look no further than Fox’s Camo FX Super Deluxe Recliner.
To start with it comes with four independent adjustable twist-lok legs with swivelling mud feet so no matter what the bankside terrain is doing, you’ll always be sitting nice and level. The armrests are neoprene-covered for extra comfort and as you’d expect, it features Fox’s tried and tested Cam Lok recliner system so you can sit at whatever angle you wish.
And then we come to the actual comfy stuff. With a micro fleece fabric that is made from Fox’s own unique camo pattern and bordered by a faux suede perimeter covering the ribbed, high-density foam mattress, this chair quite simply offers the ultimate in seating comfort. It also features a full height back with a deluxe head support that’s adjustable via the Cam Lok reclining boss, meaning you can fully relax your posture from head to toe.
Okay, it’s not the cheapest guest chair around but for those who can justify the investment, you certainly won’t be getting piles in the winter nor backache at any time of the year. “GIMME”: £159.99; foxint.com
Purple swingers
Bite indication has changed. Yates got silver foil, Maylin had monkey climbers. Today’s anglers get these all-singing, all-dancing Swingers from Fox. Whilst the three models aren’t new for this month – MK2 Illuminated, MK3 and Micro – the purple heads are and they look sensational.
1. MK2 Illuminated Swinger
As well as the head illuminating in sequence when the buzzer bleeps and having the same 80gm sliding collar weight, the MK2 Illuminated Swinger also has a spring-loaded system for increasing or decreasing the tension. And just like the other models, the arm and sliding weight are now matt black and feature rubber shock absorbers on the bottom of the head. So plug it into your Micro alarm and sit back in amazement, whether you get a liner or a full-blown screamer. “GIMME”: £30.99
2. Swinger MK3
What with being the world’s oldest indicator brand, Fox’s know a thing or two about bite indication with roots. Their legendary swinger dates all the way back to the 90’s, and this MK3 version is now the ultimate: matt black anodised coating on the arm and weight, streamlined Micron attachment tabs, patented Line Gate system, widened front end for increased visibility, rubber shock absorbers and now of course it comes with a fancy purple head. “GIMME”: £19.99
3. Micro Swinger
First class price point, first class features, first class looks. The all-matt black anodised coating not only looks great but shows you exactly what’s happening at the business end thanks to its compact arm design which is said to greatly increase sensitivity at short- to medium-range. The adjustable line clip system works a treat, whilst the new, light reactive acrylic purple head looks a million dollars when matched with your black sticks and bars. “GIMME”: £12.99
VRS Sleeping Bag
The Fox VRS Sleeping Bag truly deserves its position as Fox’s new flagship sleeping solution: it’s the pinnacle of warmth, breathability and all-round protection from the elements. The bag is made from their award-winning Ven-Tec Rip Stop material that allows moisture to pass freely from the inside of the bag, keeping it free from condensation. It’s also 100% windproof, which increases the thermal efficiency of the sleeping bag because the warm air can’t escape. Add in their 7 Core Hollow Fibre filling which is silicone treated to help maintain shape and expand fibres, plus a total of four layers (seriously!) and this new bag is the ultimate sleeping bag for your all-year-round carping adventures. The VRS is available in three sizes: VRS1, which is designed for compact beds; VRS2 for standard beds; and the VRS3 which is made for the largest of large beds. “GIMME”: £169.99, £179.99 and £189.99
Neat features
It’s not just the four layers which makes this bag feel like it’s fitted with a gas central heating system. This other clever stuff all plays its part: offset panel stitching; 10mm heavy-duty crash zips that really don’t snag; oversized external zip baffles; elasticated hoods at the head and foot ends; plus a zipped mesh pockets on both sides which are perfect for storing valuable items such as your receiver, keys, phone and wallet.
VRS Sleeping Bag Cover
Bedchair covers used to be a bit of light material with a bit of fleece stitched to it. Not any more – this super soft feel cover has a micro fleece lining for added warmth and comfort, whilst the outside is made from the same insanely waterproof Rip-Stop outer fabric used on the VRS Sleeping Bags. Along with an elasticated hood at the foot end, there’s retaining quick release buckle side straps so there’s no more waking up during the night with half of it on the floor. It’s not only ideal for upping the season-rating of the ERS Sleeping Bags Fox have just launched, but they’re also perfect as a uber lightweight sleeping bag alterative during the summer months. Available in the same three sizes as the VRS bags. “GIMME”: £52.99, £64.99 and £74.99
