Fox EOS 12000 & 12000FS Reels

If you get marginally aroused by the words ‘EOS 10000’ then this new range will be about as sensual as life gets

Following on from the outrageous success of said reel model, 2016 was all about requests for a large model that offered the same unrivalled value for money. The result is this: two new EOS models – 12000 and 12000FS.

EOS 12000

It’s black, packed full of tech and disgustingly cheap! Good line lay is taken care of thanks to Fox’s Mesh-Tec gearing system; smoothness thanks to the seven stainless ball bearings and one roller bearing; and the sprung line guards and line clip will keep your main line in ace condition. Also, you get a gutsy 4.5:1 retrieve, Pro Cast Lip on the spool, Twist Free Roller and a Quick Front Clutch with grit guard. And the price for such a stunning package? Just £94.99 with spare spools (Shallow, Standard or Deep) retailing for £19.99 each.

EOS 12000FS

Matching its younger brother in every way and then marginally winning thanks to the ‘FS’ in its product title. FS standard for ‘freespool’, which is located at the rear. Just like the 10000 and the 12000, this is a truw workhorse: a big pit reel that simply won’t let you down. Unlike those ultra lightweight offerings from other companies, this reel is based on a tough, hardwearing graphite body so it won’t bend or chip. The 12000FS model also comes with 10 stainless ball bearings so it’s even smoother on retrieves and is only marginally more expensive: £129.99 for the reel, and the spare spool options retail for the same, just £19.99.
