Fox R-Series Brolly Range

Having changed the face of the brolly market with their Supa series, Fox’s newest creation, the R-Series, is a versatile system…

Where does this fit into the Fox brolly lineup?
The hugely popular Supa Brolly range is no more. In its place, Fox launched the Ultra 60 in 2017, and now they’ve added this R-Series Brolly to their roster. It’s cheaper than the Ultra, but builds on Fox’s stellar brolly reputation and has plenty of features to grab your attention.

Hit me with the basics…
The standard brolly comes in at under £140 and includes two 24ins storm poles. Four ribs touch the ground at the rear for stability, there’s a space-saving mechanism for better headroom and the material has a 10,000mm hydrostatic-head waterproof rating. You also get a full lightweight groundsheet.

And if I want more comfort?
As you’d expect from Fox there’s a System version, retailing at £220, to give you more flexibility. It comes supplied with a zip-on front infill panel which give you three door options: Clear PVC, Solid Khaki or Mozzy Mesh. There are also four storm poles included for complete rigidity in strong winds.

I’m not sure which one I need…
Well, if you buy the basic brolly you can upgrade by buying the front infill panel separately at a later date. Whether you buy it separately or go for the System from the off, these front doors have two-way zips so you can use them letterbox-style in driving wind or rain.

Are there any other options?
Yes! If you’re normally a brolly angler, but want to bring your partner along for the odd session or you’ve got a week in France planned then you can massively add to the space of the R-Series Brolly with a clever extension section. This simply zips on to the front of the brolly, creating a tight seal. It’s made with aluminium poles and comes with an extending groundsheet, offering you a two-man conversion whenever you need it. Cleverly, the front infill panel for the brolly fits perfectly on the front of the extension, so you don’t need a separate one.

So how much do all these extra cost?
The pricing structure sits inline with the main brolly and System… In two words: well priced! The Infill Panel and Brolly Extension both retail for £79.99
