Gemini Carp Tackle Hooks

The ever popular Gemini range now includes four hook patterns, each of which oozes quality...

New this month, Gemini have launched four hook patterns following the successful release of their ARC Lead System, Unique Fused Fluorocarbon Rigs, Booms and Leaders. The hooks cover all bottom-bait and pop-up bases for the modern carp angler and come in a range of sizes. Each pattern can be purchased in either barbless or micro-barbed format, with sizes 4, 6 and 8 available. Each packet costs £4.09 and features 10 hooks. geminicarptackle.com

Wide Gaped Beaked

A tucked-in point is a very successful hooking mechanism (like an eagle’s claw), but also a great way to protect your hook point from damage when fishing over hard, gravelly lakebeds. This Gemini version feels strong and sharp and is a great all-round hook for a host of different rig presentations.

Aquiline

This is a versatile hook that some anglers may know was a ‘curved-shank’ pattern. These originated in the fly-fishing world before carpers saw their potential, and are particularly used in the making of KD Rigs. That said, the subtle sweep of this Gemini version make it a great all-rounder for use with the popular Ronnie Rig and on most bottom-bait and pop-up rigs.

Chod

That out-turned eye gives the game away instantly - this is a hook designed for use with stiff hooklink materials. It’s ideal for creating Chod Rigs, Hinged Rigs and standard stiff rigs. Like all the Gemini hooks, the Chods feature a non-reflective Teflon coating and are constructed from high-carbon steel with an ultra-sharp needle point.

Longshank

A pattern of hooks that’s criminally underrated at the moment. The hooking potential of a longshank pattern is phenomenal, using that longer shank as a lever to drive the point home. Just take a look at Ian Russell’s Flick Rig for an example of a successful long-shank arrangement. This version from Gemini boasts all the features of the range.
