How to keep gas burning efficiently this winter
Improve a night's fishing on the bank this winter
Hot food and drinks are vital ingredients to an enjoyable and comfortable stay on the bank in winter, but if you’re using a gas stove, the freezing temperature can have a detrimental effect. The cold causes the gas to begin to liquefy and therefore not burn at its ideal performance. Giving you a weak flame that takes forever to boil-up a brew, which gets progressively worse as you use-up the gas. So here is a great way of keeping the gas warm so the burning performance won’t be reduced and you’ll be able to use-up every last bit of the canister.
1 Even the low flame produced by a cold, half empty gas canister is enough heat for this method.
2 Place a saucepan on the stove and add a tiny drop of water – 1cm (half an inch) depth is enough.
3 Once the water is warm (not hot) take the pan off the stove and place the canister in the water.
4 The small rise in temperature from this process will see the gas burn efficiently every time.
