How To Make Penners' Summer Mix

Adam’s summer mix ticks off all the big fish must-have ingredients!

If you’ve tasted Cream Soda, then you’ll know why I like it!” grins Penners as we quiz him on this rather unique liquid addition to his spod mix. Adam’s summer mix continues to get all the sweeter, with a good helping of Sticky’s Cloudy Manilla, crumbed Manilla Active, plus blended tigers and peanuts! It ticks off all the big fish must-have ingredients, along with being mixed and used in a slightly different-to-normal way…

CARPOLOGY: What is the ratio of tigers, peanuts and Manilla?
ADAM PENNING: “It’s a split of 50% Manilla Active and 25% for each of the nuts.”

CARPOLOGY: Do you chop up the tigers and peanuts?
ADAM PENNING: “Yes, those are both chopped/blended, whilst the Manilla Active boilies are run through a food processor and broken down into a fine crumb.”

CARPOLOGY: Why do you include Cream Soda? It’s a rather unique liquid to add to a mix…
ADAM PENNING: “Have you tasted Cream Soda?! It tastes amazing and it’s full of sugar which compliments the Manilla and tigers nicely. I mix the Cloudy Manilla and Cream Soda 50/50 and then add it to the nuts and crumb.”

CARPOLOGY: What’s the consistency of the final mix?
ADAM PENNING: “A wet groundbait mix. I add enough of the liquid to keep it all wet and then include some 2.3mm Bloodworm Pellets shortly before using the mix.”

How to:

1. Start by blitzing some Manilla Active.

2. Next add some crushed tigers and follow chopped peanuts to the mix.

3. The King ingredient of the mix: Cream Soda!

4. And this stuff: Cloudy Manilla Liquid.

5. Mix the Cream Soda and Manilla together, and then pour over the crumbed mix.

6. You need a wet groundbait mix consistency, just before you introduce, add the pellets.
