Incoming From Fox

Whilst there were seemingly hundreds of new products in Fox’s autumn/winter launch, here are five of our favourites…

1. Cookware Station
Everyone knows Fox’s ubiquitous gas stoves, but now the company has a super-sized portable appliance for all your cooking needs. The Cookware Station is gas-powered, pumping out a whopping 8kw output, and comes with three stove configurations: (1) standard, (2) solid, flat non-stick griddle plate and (3) non-stick BBQ grate. It’s also supplied with a non-stick lid that can be used as a large pan/wok, and the lid can also be used to create an oven! Stow the Station in its own carry bag, which won’t actually take up that much room (or add much weight) on your barrow: just 34 x 34 x 22cm and 4.9kg. £149.99

2. RX+ Security System
Don’t let that hostile atmosphere on your local park lake put you off the challenge. Fox’s new Security System comprises of the RX+ Light, RX+ Remote and RX+ Sensor, all of which (as you’ll no doubt have guessed) are designed to work in conjunction with their award-winning RX+ Micron alarms, with the aim to keeping you feeling a little bit safer. Whilst the RX+ Light can be used as a standard bivvy light with a remove and/or linked to the alarms to illuminate when you get a bite, its primary use is to floodlight your swim. When combined with the RX+ Sensor, which has a Passive Infrared Motion Sensor (PIR), if triggered, it’ll set off that light, hopefully spooking any unwarned night visitors. Sync the RX+ Remote and you can remotely control all operations. £349.99

3. Transporter Barrows
Fox’s first electric SUV barrows, which are on-sale now, were among the most anticipated from this year’s big launch. There are two models in the range: Transporter 24V Power Barrow and a ‘Plus’ version. The standard model delivers a huge 250W of power from the 24V in-hub motor, which Fox claims to be ‘best-in-class’ for its performance. The ‘Plus’ model serves up even more brute strength, delivering 350W! To help control that power, it features two rear 360-degree rotation castor wheels, along with an extendable length frame and side rails so you can load it high and wide with your ‘bankside essentials’.

As you’d expect from Fox, even the positioning of the power box has been considered. ‘Rear wheel’ barrows need the weight to be spread evenly, so the power unit sits across the width of the frame at the rear, ensuring perfect balance and weight distribution. Whereas on the single-wheeled model, it’s required towards the front, so it sits just behind that driving wheel. £899.99 and £999.99

4. Carpmaster Net Safe
Fox believed there was a simpler way to design a landing net retaining arm, one which didn’t require an MSc Engineering Degree to operate. The Carpmaster Net Safe proves it can be done. The 3/8 BSF thread has 12 different locking angles for your bankstick/storm pole—from parallel to the lake’s surface to 45º Terry Hearn style. The net arms are then positioned against the front rest whilst the pole is locked securely into the rear grip. That’s it. Oh, and they’ve even managed to make it more compact than the competition by allowing the arm and pole-securing features to fold in. £24.99

5. Edges Large Tackle Box
When it comes to storing end tackle, it’s tough to beat a tackle box. One of our all-time favourites for housing all our terminal items is the legendary Fox System Box. This newest version, which goes by the name of Edges Large Tackle Box, has a whacking 49 individual compartments, with the top half featuring smoke-tinted closers to allow the products to be seen inside and the base being designed to accommodate all the Edges (Fox’s terminal tackle sub-brand) internal boxes and accessories to the micro-millimetre. There’s more wizardry in the form of how the lid stops at exactly 180-degrees. This makes tying up rigs with the box on your lap much easier. It also uses VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor), which means should any of the items inside the box get wet, it’ll slow down their corrosion. It would also appear that Fox has gone all ‘Indie’ on us by throwing in a free sticker pack with each box. £49.99
