Kid's In Mind Angling Adventures
A family and friend run charity based in East Sussex that aims to make fishing events available all year round for children.
Who are Kid's In Mind Angling Adventures and why do they do what they do?
"Firstly, there's myself, Lewis Smith, I am a keen angler and family man with a passion to help others, especially the younger generation. As many of you know the benefits of fishing has to the mental and physical heath of a person, so why children? Well it has been proven that fishing aids the reduction in all aspects of mental health and wellbeing a place to be out in the open with a clear mind a chance to take yourself away from many situations that life throws at you.
Our venture at KIMAA is is to make fishing events available all year round (less in winter months) to children that are from all backgrounds whether that is a mental or physical disability or they struggle with anxiety and depression. We want to get them onto the bank at a young age and help try to conquer these issues and just allow the children to enjoy time with other likeminded children in the fresh air with their families! Yes you heard it bring your family for the day totally free of charge! All the essential equipment is provided by us whatever skill you have from whip poles feeders, 10ft fishing rod set ups, we will have something for you to learn with."
"The charity is currently funded by ourselves so sponsors are welcome to get involved and support us, whether that is a cash injection or something for the children to take away from the day, these are all welcome. We are happy to chat to anyone that'd love to sponsor us or donate stickers, tackle or goodies.
I'd like to personally thank Nash Tackle, Elliot & Gemma Gray, Korda, Fox International, Monkey Climber Magazine, Subsurface Journal, Cartoon Carper and Big Carp Buzz for providing competition prizes and tackle for these events."
"KIMAA is family orientated and we welcome everyone to our events, or even to join us on our 1-2-1 courses where we will offer you the chance to obtain your GetFishing award as part of the Angling Trust Scheme.
