Kodex Karp Lokker HR3 Rod Holdall
Kodex’s new Karp-Lokker holdall is a compact design that keeps each rod in its own compartment
Kodex have unleashed a wave of new luggage items under the Karp-Lokker title designed to keep your kit solidly stored out of harm’s way. Included in the range are a barrow bag, carryall, chair bag and individual rod sleeves. Each piece of luggage looks like it means business with super-tough 840-denier material, rugged zips and star-stitched reinforcement in key areas of wear and tear. Adjustable carry straps and ergonomic handles mark this new range out as being built to be able to cope with the rigours of bankside life.
Epitomising that built-to-last ethos is the Karp-Lokker Three-Rod Holdall. Capable of carrying three made-up 12ft rods with reels attached, this holdall uses space cleverly to retain a relatively sleek silhouette. It’s spacious and offers plenty of protection, but you’re not going to be unbalanced and topple over when you sling this across your shoulders.
Unlike some rod holdalls, each rod compartment is individually zipped, so you can reach for whichever rod you need at the time - a handy feature if you’re trying to get fishing in bad weather and don’t want to expose all your kit at once.
As you would expect, each compartment is fully padded to keep your expensive rods safe in transit. Also fully padded is the shoulder strap, which is adjustable for comfort and balance. Like the rest of the Karp-Lokker range, this holdall is also star-stitched at critical stress points for all-important durability in the face of repeated load lugging. It measures up at 195cm long, 26cm wide and 19cm deep.
Full retail price is a penny under £80 but it looks as if you will be able to pick up this three-rod holdall for around £60, making it very competitively priced. Well built, cleverly engineered and dressed in just the right shade of carpy green, it looks as if the Karp-Lokker range has a bright future ahead of it.
