Kodex Micro-Strip Coated Hooklink
One spool to rule them all? Well, maybe!
Small, yet mighty, Kodex continues to find success the terminal-tackle market, punching waaay above its weight, thanks largely to some nicely thought-out kit. This is no mindlessly copied crap, far from it, and you guys seem to be noticing that too. It’s quite an undertaking to tackle the big boys in their own back yard, but with solid products and refreshing prices, Kodex is doing just that!

The variations of presentation that are possible with a humble spool of coated braid are innumerable! Think standard combi-link bottom bait rigs, the Multi Rig for pop-ups, or Darrell-Peck-style broken Hinge Rigs, all from one spool. Frankly, you don’t need to carry another hooklink material really, perhaps beside a stiff rig filament.
2. Keeping it simple is key
Grab a hook, strip some coating, tie a Hair loop and whip up a quick Knotless Knot rig with some Micro Strip. If we’re being honest, there really isn’t another bottom bait rig that you need and no carp will avoid capture on it indefinitely. You’ll get absolutely loads of those rigs from a single spool of Micro Strip too.
3. You like to blend in?
Good, us too, well it certainly can’t hurt, can it? Kodex has chosen a good all-round Weedy Green colour for the coating, which will blend seamlessly over most of the darker, choddy or weedy bottoms. The coating itself isn’t too shiny either, which makes any tiny chance of fish spooking off a tiny glint even more remote.
4. You test your tackle to the limit
The inner core of Micro Strip might be flexible, but it’s also rugged too. The Dyneema fibres are exceptionally abrasion resistant, so if you’re fishing territory that demands the very toughest tackle, Micro Strip won’t let you down. Clearly, we’d recommend stepping up to the 25lb breaking strain in that situation.
5. Your attention to detail game is strong
You’ll like Micro Strip then. The coating has been specially formulated to stay intact when knotted. We’ve all used those other coated braids that split when you tighten the knot, giving you a hinge that you didn’t want – it’s bloody frustrating. A second nice touch: it sinks well, which we love.
