Let There Be Litez!

Add a splash of colour to your set-up thanks to Sonik’s new bobbin collection: Gizmo Litez

The simple bobbin is an under-valued item of the carp angler’s armoury, often taken for granted and rarely thought about. Yet we all know that a nice set of them can perfectly crown a great-looking set-up and ones that just work and last the test of time are perhaps more useful than we give credit for. Sonik’s Gizmo Litez range looks to have boxed off all those criteria thanks to great looks, rugged construction and plenty of aesthetically minded colour options.

First off, let’s assess their functionality. The smooth moulded line clips won’t damage your line and each one matches the colour of the bobbin’s body. The tension can be adjusted to suit whatever line diameter you’re using at the time (and the degree to which you wish your bobbin to ‘cling on’ to the line during a take). Each bobbin is also supplied with an additional screw-on weight of 10g, which enables you to adjust how much resistance the bobbin provides against undertows at long range or how much help it gives you when detecting drop-back bites. The final piece of adjustability comes in the two opti-curve chains supplied with each head. Choose to deploy either the 10cm or 18cm version.

Looks-wise, Sonik are clearly onto a winner here. The highly visible bodies are available in a variety of five vivid colours (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple), plus White, Black and Carbon, and each one features a body-twist collar for perfect alignment. Each body also has room for three 15mm isotopes to provide plenty of illumination at night.

These multi-use indicators can be set-up on a swing arm to provide stability in windy conditions, or like a standard dangling bobbin. Available in seven colours with two screw-on weights each.
