Solid bags are a brilliant tactic for getting quick bites, Tom maker put this to test recently at Linear Fisheries, St Johns lake, where he managed many carp using the tactic. Read the full account of Tom's trip to St Johns here!

HOW TO TIE TOM'S SOLID PVA BAGS:

1. Tom likes to keep his bag rigs simple and opts to trim down his pop-up to balance.

2. Take your bag of choice and add a tiny amount of your mix into the bottom like so, then drop your rig and hookbait into the bag as shown here.

3. Holding the lead, add more of the mix, before placing the lead on top, sitting central. Continue to fill the bag, tapping the sides as you go to distribute the mix evenly.

4. Tighten down on the bag, compressing it using the palm of your hand as shown and twist the top until the bag is tight and then tie the top off using PVA tape. Using a pair of scissors, trim the tag ends of the bag to neaten it all up.

5. Push in the corners of the bag, licking, and sticking down to make it more aero.

6. Here’s the finished solid bag—the ultimate when it comes to perfect presentation.
