Everything you need to know about Carp Wars
Hitting your TV screens this week
FishingTV and Sky Sports have teamed up to bring you a brand-new carp fishing show, Carp Wars, which starts airing on Thursday 1st December at 5.30pm on Sky Sports 3, and will be shown weekly thereafter.
Carp Wars is a carp fishing challenge featuring six anglers facing-off in head-to-head matches, and includes some of the biggest names in UK carp angling: Dave Lane, Ian Russell, Ian Chillcott, Jerry Hammond and Mark Bryant. Also pitting his skills against these top anglers is Suffolk-based Harry Pratt. Harry, who is 19, won the chance to go up against some of his heroes by entering a competition via Facebook to be the sixth angler.
The anglers will face-off in 15 head-to-head matches, each held over 24hrs at a variety of venues around the UK. Points are awarded to the angler who lands the biggest fish, and the angler who lands the greatest total weight. After the 15 group matches, the top two anglers will do battle once more in the 48hr grand final, which will be held at the Etang le Fays fishery in France.
Along with being screened on Sky Sports 3, there will be repeats on Sky Sports 5 the following day and it will also be available to stream via FishingTV’s website, smartphone and tablet apps for Android and iOS, via Amazon FireTV and on Smart TVs.
