Suffolk Water Park

One of Suffolk's premier carp waters is open to all

With not many big fish waters around the Norfolk and Suffolk area, any which do hold a good head of fish are well known to the locals. Many of you would have heard of the Suffolk Water Park, home of a staggering head of 30lb fish along with a colossal carp known as ‘4.3’ which regularly goes over the magical 40lb mark. Featured on several of the Korda Thinking Tackle episodes, the lake is a specimen angler’s paradise, set in some truly lovely surroundings to ensure every angler has a truly magical stay.

The lake itself is a total of 25-acres in size with a whole host of different features which will cover all different styles of angling, in order to suit every fisherman. Bars, gullies, silt, snaggy bays, long-range fishing, stalking, surface fishing etc. – the lake has it all. Being a horseshoe shape means that there are plenty of swims spread around the lake, with ample casting room from each which means there are rarely arguments amongst anglers. Two separate car parks are situated on-site which means there is never far to walk from your car to the swim.

In total there is a stock of around 150 carp, with 21 of these going over the very special 30lb barrier at the correct time of the year. The rest of the carp average high-doubles to low-twenties with all of these being stunning English warriors. The lake is no easy venue because of its size, so make sure you find the fish and the takes can be only a short while away.

Many different tactics and approaches work well on The Water Park; it is all down to the conditions and the location. Anything from spod and particle mixes, to boilie fishing and Zig presentations, they all have their day and when used correctly you can really hit it right and have a session to remember! One massive advantage is to travel light and keep moving if you’re not having any action.

The facilities on-site include a café that sells a selection of hot and cold food/drinks; a tackle shop that sells everything you’ll need and well-managed toilets. So, if you fancy a session down on The Water Park, don’t hesitate when turning up to speak to the friendly staff in the shop to find out the most up to date information.
