Primus Easy Fuel Stove
When you think stoves, you think Primus, and there’s good reason for that: they’re reliable, efficient and powerful
The BIg Questions
Everyone’s heard of Primus, but few will know much about the company’s heritage. Can you tell us more?
“Primus was founded way back in 1892, when two engineers introduced the first soot-free kerosene stove. Since then, our products have travelled up Everest, across deserts and down to the South Pole. We’ve never stopped innovating and today our extensive range of stoves, flasks and accessories accompany anglers and outdoor enthusiasts on all types of adventures.”
Where are Primus stoves designed and manufactured?
“All of our stoves are designed at our Stockholm headquarters in Sweden by a dedicated R&D team. Once our engineers have perfected the stoves’ designs, they are manufactured in Europe at our own factory so we can be sure every single stove lives up to our legendary quality and performance.”
How is each and every stove tested?
“When you buy a Primus stove you might notice a slight bloom on the burner. This is because we individually fire test every single one before it leaves our factory to ensure it is working perfectly before it reaches its new owner.”
How much enthusiasm does Primus put after sales and technical support?
“For us, when someone buys a Primus stove we view it as an investment for many years, if not life. To help our customers keep their stoves in perfect working order, we have a dedicated, UK-based technical support team as well as an after-sales service that can help with spare parts or replacement components.”
Can you talk us through some of the neat features on the new Primus Easy Fuel Stove? The pre-heaving tube; peg-down feet etc.
“When you’re in a shop and faced with a whole shelf full of stoves it can be hard to initially see the difference but when you opt for a Primus model, you’re not only getting far superior build quality but typical Swedish attention to detail. The Easy Fuel Gas Stove is no exception. Ultra-easy to use, the stable design includes piezo ignition for easy lighting, a pre-heating tube that reduces flare-ups and the feet can even be pegged down to stablise on uneven terrain.”
How powerful is this stove? Can you give us some hard facts - such as how quickly it’ll boil a litre of water for example?
“It’s pretty powerful! A 3000W output means it will boil a litre in around three to four minutes so you won’t be waiting too long for your cuppa. It’s also efficient and offers 70-minutes of cooking time on one of Primus’ 230g cartridges.”
