Prologic XLNT Bivvy

This compact one-man shelter with a criss-cross frame has the X-Factor

With consultants like Adam Penning now firmly part of their product-development programme, Prologic are building a fine reputation for innovative thinking. This new bivvy follows that design ethos with excellent use of materials and space to create something airy yet lightweight and rugged.

Thanks to its criss-cross frame, the XLNT certainly is eye-catching

The Big Questions

This frame looks interesting
Yep, it’s got a crossover X design which makes it easy to put up yet very stable in the face of the toughest conditions. This bivvy occupies a fairly modest footprint but the semi-flat back panel and overall shape help maximises the available internal space.

How big is it?
The XLNT is 2m deep, 2m wide and 1.22m tall, so it will happily house all the kit a solo angler needs. Despite this, it all weighs in at just 8.3kg.

What do you get as standard?
There’s a peak to keep driving wind and rain at bay, plus you get a reinforced groundsheet that Velcros in place. There’s an oversized rear vent, plus a mosquito front option. The solid front panel can also be completely removed for better visibility. Proper bivvy pegs are also included. Thankfully, Prologic have given the XLNT a well-sized deluxe carry bag that makes stuffing it all away at the end of a session much less of a chore.

Is it tough?
You bet it is. The fabric is fully waterproof double-coated 210D with a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm. Paired with the patented design of the crossover X frame, the XLNT is one tough cookie that’ll happily protect you on big, windswept venues. Prices start from £199.99.
