Best Value Indicator On The Market?

Sonik's Gizmo Swingbobs are an indicator miracle: they'll cover all your bite indicator requirements

With inflation through the roof, it’s nice that at least one tackle company is still serving up great products for not a lot of money. The Gizmo Swingbobs from Sonik offer gorgeous looks with a lot of versatility.

There are two versions available: Phat (20mm body) and Slim (10mm), both capable of housing a central isotope—but that’s where the differing similarities end. The functionality is second-to-none, starting with the smooth ‘Grip Clip’ moulded line clip which allows you to fish them either fixed to the line or running. These clips have masses of adjustability: fishing with cotton-thin braid or 20lb thick mono? It’s not an issue: the tension can be tweaked by loosening or tightening the central thread to suit whatever’s loaded onto your reels at that time. And finally, each one cleverly, and rather stylishly, matches the colour of the bobbin’s body.

The outstanding value-for-money element continues with the many ‘add-ons’ included with this indicator package, one of which is the additional screw-on 10g weights. These enable you to adjust how much resistance the bobbin provides against undertows at long-range or how much help it gives you when detecting drop-back bites. And there’s more…

Both versions are supplied with a chain and an articulator swing arm, allowing you to choose between two different forms of indicator presentation. To keep everything looking sharp and aligned, these new models feature a keyed hockey fitting, so everything should be sitting at perfect right angles.

So do they represent the best value for an indicator set-up? At under £15 a set, we think you’d be hard-pushed to find anything that comes close to these.
