Feature-packed alarms at a great price… it’s very nice to meet you C-Series Alarms from Prologic!

Prologic are on a roll at the moment off the back of a strong selection of product launches in 2021. Particular praise has been heaped on their C-Series range of budget-conscious products, with the rods and reels that bear this title singled out for offering plenty of bang for the buck. Now Prologic hope the latest C-Series bite alarms will follow along that same path. Here are our big 5 plus points from our introduction to them…

1. Build and Design
Shaped like a classic pear-shaped alarm head, the C-Series looks good. There are LEDs mounted in both ears, which are visible no matter which side of your rods you’re sitting on, and the large buttons are easy to access. The weatherproof case and quality screw thread make these alarms appear built to last.

2. Adjustability
There are volume, tone and sensitivity controls on the front of the alarms. Changing each one is simply a case of pressing the relevant button to cycle through the options available. On the underside of the alarms there’s a 2.5mm output for illuminated bite indicators and the whole unit is powered off a single 9v battery.

3. Bivvy Light and Receiver
Rechargeable through a USB cable and mounted to your shelter’s roof via a hook or magnetic plate, the bivvy light syncs to the alarm heads to come on when you get a bite—or just use it as a standard illumination device. The receiver pairs to your alarm heads with equal ease and has a claimed range of 100m.

4. Night Light
A feature normally found on more high-end alarms but present here on the lovable C-Series heads is a night light. This gentle glow illuminates your setup in the hours of darkness thanks to an LED mounted just beneath the roller wheel in the centre of the alarms. Staying with the LED theme, the C-Series heads are available in blue, green, yellow or red colours.

5. Price
This is the big one. Every time a new set of wallet-friendly alarms arrives on the scene we’re taken aback by just how much gadgetry can be crammed in for so little, and these are no exception. A full set of three alarm heads, a bivvy light and a receiver can be picked up for just £99.99! That—in anyone’s book—is fantastic value for money.
