Clever rod case

A rod sleeve’s a rod sleeve, right? It was, until ESP turned up with their take on the UK’s most popular form of rod protection…

ESP never fails to impress us with each season’s drop of new kit. In the late spring it was Terry Hearn’s new Carp Rods and Landing Net (arr man, that net… simply ravishing!) – and for summer it’s green goods in the form of carryalls, a rucksack and these: Nylon Rod Sleeves which really are the epitome of top rod protection on a seriously tight budget.

Designed to provide protection to your rods, guides and line without the bulk or weight of conventional padded sleeves, along with incorporating some previously never-before-seen features, such as the elasticated tip protector. This simply pulls over the tip and butt, providing extra protection to the tip section.

Made from a hardwearing yet light 240D nylon, the sleeves are available in two lengths, 12 and 13ft, and both will accommodate 50mm ringing comfortably. They also feature small snap-lock buckles which allow for multiple sleeves to be clipped together on a quiver.

Quite frankly, these are the best rod sleeves we’ve ever used – and better still, they’re a winner too when it comes to price.
