Floating about for the summer

Looking for a compact yet not restrictive rowing boat which is packed full of tech and safety features? Read on…

Ultimate all-round brand, Fox, doesn’t just boss it when it comes to end tackle edges, bite alarms, rods, bivvies and co; it knows how to throw together a pretty bad-ass boat too. Paddling in the success of their first two boat designs, the FX200 and FX290 which they launched last summer, comes another two new additions: the FX240 (what we’re looking at here) and its bigger brother, the FX320.

The FX240 is the result of numerous requests from Fox’s customers and their premiership line-up of angling consultants for an inflatable boat that was a bit bigger than the FX200 but not quite as large as FX290. Thanks to its size, this particular model is ideal for baiting up, placing rigs, playing fish, as well as aiding in the moving of tackle from one swim to another.

Just as with Fox’s debut models, the FX200 has been manufactured to exacting standards from a rich olive green, heavy-duty 0.9mm fabric and is packed full of really clever mechanisms and a whole host of safety features. From a fully adjustable rail seat for maximum adjustability and square paddles (which are strapped onto the end of black oars for a real #carpy look) for better performance to reinforced side and under rails for maximum protection and a marine ply floor (can be packed away assembled), it will take 240kgs of you and your kit anywhere you wish. Plus, thanks to a solid, reinforced backboard for stable engine mounting, it means you can get to said destination all the quicker should you strap one on.
