Fortis Techlite Compact Sleeping Bag

You know Fortis, right? The sunglasses people with the amazing Snugpak collab clothing? Their new Techlite Compact might just be the one for you?

The big five

1. Are you hardcore enough?
Okay, so Fortis already makes a top-notch sleeping bag, the original Techlite. This one though, packs down much smaller and weighs in at just 2.5kg. So, if you’re into stripping back to the bare essentials, then this is going to suit you perfectly. If you’re more about comfy socials, a few beers, takeaway and home comforts, then you’ll be better served by the original Techlite.

2. What does it compare to?
Frankly, the Compact’s family tree lies rooted more in mountaineering and the militarythan in the fishing industry, but we’d suggest that if you’ve used top- end bags from the likes of Aqua, Fox and Trakker, then you’re likely to be in the market for a bag that costs the best part of £250 (for the DPM version).

3. Do you actually fish all year round?
If so, then the versatility of this bag will appeal. It features a 5 removable top layer that you can zip-on for winter, and zip-o when temperatures begin to rise again!

4. Why buy Fortis?
The archetypal Fortis customer wants the best quality and is 6 willing to pay a bit more for it. The fact that the kit made for the Fortis/Snugpak collaboration is ALL made in the UK, would appeal too. It’s a brand, and a product, for the serious carp angler who wants to buy British.

5. You’re into carping fashion too?
There’s no hotter brand than Fortis right now. Stylish, British-made kit, available in understated olive, or on-trend British Army DPM, need we say more?
