Fox Edges Hooks

Years in the making, the new Fox Edges Arma Point Hook range looks set to find favour with even the most picky anglers!

It’s been a while since we had new hooks from Fox… in fact, it’s been a reassuringly long time! Why? Well, because the original Arma Point range was bloody good and if you’re going to redesign a range that was as popular as this one was, then you’d jolly well better get it right.

Luckily, the Essex tackle giant channelled all of its development might into the project, which is precisely the right way to do it! As a result, you won’t find off-the-peg copies in the new Fox Edges Arma Point range; instead, the development team has painstakingly designed each of the eight new patterns from scratch so, together, they cover you for anything the modern carp game can throw at you. The result is a hook range that the Fox team are confident is the sharpest and strongest out there. Let’s take a look at the detail… foxint.com

1. Curve Shank

This one’s a consummate all-rounder, perfect for bottom baits, wafters and pop-ups. Its long, razor-sharp point and sweeping shank conspire to give a pattern that flips and turns aggressively, without the need to faff around with shrink tube. Compact design and a heavy forged shank and bend give it brutish stopping power too – just the ticket for the more challenging swims! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

2. Curve Shank Medium

360ş Rig fans are going to LOVE this one. The heavily swept shank and straight point ooze aggression, but its unique shape makes this pattern perfect for bottom-bait rigs too. Test it for yourself, that curving shank relentlessly flips the point into prime hooking position each time you drag it across your palm! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

3. Curve Shank Short

This tough little customer is an improved version of the original Arma Point XSC pattern. Special XC80 Vanadium forged steel wire makes them eye-wateringly strong but light too, and the short shank and long, straight point promise to give outstandingly secure hook holds. The short, swept shank lends itself to a host of different presentations, for both pop-up and bottom baits, which means it’s versatile too! Available in barbed only and in sizes 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

4. Stiff Rig Beaked

We already know that this updated version of the popular Arma Point SR design is going to be popular. Cleverly, the out-turned eye has been enlarged to allow you to use the Knotless Knot to tie up Chod or Hinge Rigs with think, super-stiff monofilaments. In fact, it’s that big it’ll allow 30lb Rigidity to pass through it three times! The beaked point and heavily forged bend will help to ensure that you get banging hook holds, and reassuring holding power when the going gets tough! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

5. Stiff Rig Straight

So you’re a Stiff Rig fan who doesn’t rate beaked-point hooks? Luckily for you, Fox has thought of that too. The large, out-turned eye has been sculpted for use with thick, stiff monofilaments and the needle-sharp, straight point might just snare you an extra carp or two! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

6. Wide Gape Beaked

The staple of any hook range has been given the Fox treatment. Gone is the old SSBP pattern… in its place is this lovely model. The Wide Gape Beaked hooks feature an elegant, curving point, forged bend, in-turned eye and straight shank; contours that add up to a reliable bottom bait or pop-up pattern. This is the pattern to reach for when fishing bottom baits over those hard spots – the beaked point will be less likely to get dulled on the gravel! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

7. Wide Gape Straight

The uncompromisingly straight lines of this pattern might look a touch unusual, but they combine to give a hook that flips, turns and catches hold with unnerving ease. With or without shrink tube or a kicker, this pattern simply finds the sweet spot and stays put. Its long, straight point penetrates quickly and the square bend helps to generate the most solid hook holds imaginable. Try them with pop-ups or bottom baits! Available in barbed sizes of: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8; and barbless of 6 and 8. “GIMME”: £4.25

8. Zig & Floater

We have the growth of Zigging to thank for these specialised hooks. They’ve been designed for use where scrutiny from carp is at its fiercest – on the surface or up in the water. As such, they’re a little finer in the wire than the rest of the range, but still comfortably strong enough to land whatever you hook! A slightly out-turned eye allows your mono hooklink or Zig material to exit bang in-line with the shank, giving superior presentation with floating, or suspended baits. Available in both barbed and barbless in sizes 6, 8 and 10. “GIMME”: £4.25
