Fox R-Series Brolly System

Fox have just dropped a LOAD of new gear, including this seriously impressive budget brolly system…

Don’t let anyone say we don’t live in a golden age of carp-fishing tackle. Not content with revolutionising the shelter market with the Supa Brolly (now superseded by the Ultra 60), Fox have squeezed all that expertise into a new budget version under the R-Series banner.

As with previous Fox brollies, there’s the standard shelter and a System version. The former is just £139.99 while the latter features various front-panel options and four storm poles for under £220! Whichever you choose, you get four ribs touching the ground for greater stability, a space-saving internal mechanism so you don’t brain yourself when springing up to hit a bite, extended side skirts and a full-size lightweight groundsheet.

The standard brolly comes with two storm poles and weighs in at 7.5kg, while the System is 9kg. Both are made from nylon and have a 10,000mm hydrostatic head. That means a column of water 10m (10,000mm) high could press down on the material before it leaks - in short, it’s seriously waterproof.

The front panels can be bought separately allowing you to upgrade a standard brolly, and the igloo-like Brolly Extension turns the cosy shelter into a bankside house easily capable of swallowing two bedchairs laid out front to back.
