Being ‘sheeped up’ never felt so good
As a slang term for anglers who piggyback on the success of others by copying their baits, rigs or spots, it’s not good to be a sheep in the carp world. Until now. Fortis have expanded their Sherpa line after a very warm reception last winter. The existing Sherpa Fleece Hoody forms the basis of the range, with its thick fleecy outer that is both ludicrously soft and warm. The distinctive deep-pile garment features a high neckline, half zip and drawcord two-layer hood, plus elasticated cuffs and kangaroo pockets on the front. Fortis branding is kept typically subtle with a signature embroidery patch near the hem.
New for the 2021/2022 winter season is a deliciously scrumptious DPM camo version of the Sherpa Fleece Hoody, offering all the benefits of the standard green version but with added colouration. At £59.99 it’s a fiver more expensive than the olive-green example, but well worth the additional investment in our eyes.
If you want a bit more freedom of arm movement, or don’t want to be completely smothered in body-hugging fleece, then there are now two new body warmers—or as the French call it, gilet—versions available, too. They also come in olive and DPM camo and retail at £49.99 and £54.99 respectively.
All four of these fleecy threads are made using Fortis’s 250g/m2 fabric and are designed so they can be worn over a half-zip top and under a Fortis Marine Jacket for layered warmth in the coldest conditions.
