Kodex Konnect Handle

Kodex design a landing net from the ground up, and you know what? It’s bloody good!

Can a landing net pole really be so much better than the next one? Until we saw the Kodex Konnect landing net handle we’d have to say, “No, not significantly”. The thing is though, Kodex has designed this net from scratch, to cater for multiple situations, and the result is a net that’s affordable and aimed squarely at the UK carper. Let’s take a look at the details…

1. It’s got one hell of a reach

If you team the Konnect with a 42-inch landing net, and the Zig-Master extension that comes as standard, you’ll arrive at a maximum reach of a lanky 3.3m. Why is that needed? Well, first of all, it’s perfect for Zigging, because we all know that you shouldn’t wind the lead clip through the rings! Second, it might just save your skin if you get a fish weeded on the marginal shelf! We can’t think why you wouldn’t want extra reach.

2. Built to last

The stress that goes through a net pole when your mate ‘salmon swoops’ your new PB out of the weed, is immense. You really don’t want a pole that’s flimsy; the more rigid, the better. Kodex knew this, hence they’ve made the pole from carbonex material.

3. It looks the part

It’s slim, at just 12.5mm, which appeals to our fashion-conscious sensibilities. It has a matt black finish, with suitably subtle branding and a grippy handle too. The brass thread that you screw the landing net into is blackened too, which is pretty easy on the eye, as well as being tough as you know what.

4. It packs down really small

For a pole with such a long reach, we were pretty surprised to find that it packs down absolutely tiny! In fact, those 3.3m break down to just 40-inches (we guess that with a landing net head, you’re actually looking at 42-inches) for transport; that’s pretty impressive if you ask us.

5. The price!

What do you have to pay to secure such a well-designed piece of kit then? Well, we were shocked to find that Kodex are offering the Konnect for just £45. Given the prices that you can pay for a top-end net, that seems like a total steal to us. You might well have to reappraise your budget for the new net!
