Kodex Serenity Nets

When all around you are losing their heads, keep yours together at the crucial moment, thanks to the Serenity net from Kodex

The Big Questions

Whoa, that’s affordable, but is it value for money?
Good question, because the two things are different, right? We’re putting this net into the value category, thanks to its solid performance. You get quite a lot of net for under £40 here, with modern materials, bespoke design and fish-safe materials factored in. We’re not sure how Kodex has managed to research and design such a product, then retail it at £34.99, but more power to them that they managed it!

Aside from the cost, what do we need to know?
So the Kodex team designed this from the ground up, sourcing the materials that would give them the performance they desired, while keeping costs under control. They even designed a brand-new spreader block: a glass-filled, lightweight construction that’s brutally strong, but won’t throw your net off balance.

It’s not super-heavy and floppy, right?
No, and that’s a conscious design decision. The last thing that you need at the crucial moment, with your target fish coughing water, is for the net to either fold over, or be too heavy to manoeuvre through the drink to snare your prize. So, Kodex has teamed the bespoke spreader block with rigid, 12mm arms that will cut through the water quickly, allowing you to react to any last-minute lunges.

Have they thought about fish safety?
Yes, this is clearly front and centre in the design process. The mesh is soft and, crucially, deep enough for you to safely retain a fish to recover while you get your mat, sling and scales sorted. The mesh is what Kodex call, Anti-Hangup, which ensures that it can’t become snagged up on end tackle, which can lead to all kinds of problems when dealing with your captive.

That sounds brilliant. Any extra features?
Definitely. We’d point out the rugged polymer angled cord guides which protect the net cord at its most vulnerable point, the spot that it exits the arms. It’s a lot harder to net a carp with a floppy net, believe us, and these special guides will extend the life of your cord tenfold. Also, that special spreader block has isotope slots on both sides, which accept the Kodex Mini Isotopes, so you can see what you’re doing on the blackest of nights. We almost forgot to mention the Serenity Nets are available in three sizes: 30”, 36”, & 42”.
