Mitchell Full Runner MX6 7000 Reel

With a history and pedigree to rival any reel company, Mitchell are flaunting their expertise with the new MX6 7000

Part of the Full Runner range from Mitchell, the MX6 7000 has huge line capacity in a compact package. In fact, no other Mitchell freespool reel in history has ever had such an appetite for line, even though the overall package is surprisingly svelte. With beautifully tapered rear lines sitting behind that cavernous big-pit spool, this is one of the best looking reels on the market.

Boasting a redesigned Full Runner system, the body is shorter than you would imagine from a free-spool big-pit, while the spool on the mid-sized 7000 version is capable of taking 540yds of 12lb mono (or 450yds of 15lb and 325yds of 20lb).

This reel has four stainless-steel bearings in the main body, plus one in the bail-arm roller, and a slow oscillation for great line lay. The bail arm itself is thick and sturdy aluminium, while the corrosion-resistant body is polymeric for a total weight of just 725g.

The MX6 7000 has a big appetite for line… it can hold 540yds of 12lb mono!

If you like to get your reels nice and snug on your buzzer bars then the one-touch folding design of the MX6’s handle will definitely appeal, as will the very swish rosewood knob, which perfectly sets off the subtly branded all-black body.

The Full Runner free-spool system is micro-adjustable and the front clutch ticks like a Swiss watch.

This is a big reel in a small package, with a line capacity that makes it ideal for long-distance angling at home or abroad.
