Multifunctional Extra Comfort
Regardless of your requirements, make bankside living even more comfortable thanks to Trakker and their new Gazebos
Where previous utility tents were considered a luxury—albeit only during extended sessions due to their complex nature (read: time-consuming and awkward) to erect—Trakker now presents a new option named ‘Gazebo’. Whether you’re enjoying your annual weeklong stay in France or have 48-hours on Brasenose; whether it’s blissfully hot or a storm’s raging, the additional footprint this new style of tent offers is almost unrivalled, especially when you combine it with a very easy setup…
1. Multifunctional
The neat box-shape design means you can utilise every inch of its 2.75 x 2.75m base (and 3.05 by 3.05m in the XL model), whether that’s just for you, your bedchair, bivvy table and guest chair or as a second home (read: social hub/cook tent) to store all that extra clutter you would be carrying on a longer session. It’s also the ideal shelter, regardless of how you use it, for the taller angler. Standing at 2.00m with a maximum opening door height of 1.80m, whilst the XL is a whopping 3.00m with a max door opening of 2.00m.
2. Easy set-up
As we’ve hinted at, these new Gazebos are much easier to assemble than previous utility tents. Where previously two people were required, these can be set up by just one. ‘Telescopic Speedup’ aluminium poles provide a sturdy frame and allow the shelter to pack down into a compact, manageable size.
3. Wide view
Let’s start with the door. The height of this can be dictated by you, allowing for maximum visibility even when standing up. It can be configured from fully open or full mesh to prevent flying insects from entering, to fully solid to prevent water ingress. In addition to this, the door can be used as a porch to create a large, shaded area, offering some protection from the sun. On the three remaining sides, there are large solid panels which can be rolled up to reveal large mesh panels. So, in short: when it’s wet, keep the doors and windows done up; when the sky clears, roll them all up to create a cool living space with a fabulous view of your swim whilst sipping on a glass of 2007 Merlot.
4. Features
Along with guy ropes for extra stability during adverse weather conditions, it also comes supplied with heavy-duty T-pegs and a heavy-duty 600D NXG-style carry bag. A groundsheet and Door Pole Kit are available separately.
5. Pricing
The Standard model retails for £384.99, whilst its XL brother will set you back £449.99. There are a couple of optional extras available, such as the heavy-duty groundsheet, which has an RRP of £79.99 and £99.99, and the Door Pole Kit (to easily convert it into a big porch) is £29.99.
