Pretty Putty
It might just be putty (but we all use it in one form or another), but Thom’s found the one for him…

There’s a temptation to write ‘it sinks’ and walk away from this review at the two-word mark. But the Nash Cling-On Tungsten Putty is the best I’ve used and, although it’s a relatively small item of tackle, I think it’s worth explaining why.
I’ve used it for many years since a sample arrived on my desk during my previous job at Angling Times, and from the moment I first used it I knew I had one less product to worry about.
For me, it’s the sticky, claggy nature of it that I love. It just doesn’t come off.
Now, I gather the manufacturing process for putty means you sacrifice weight for clinginess and some anglers sneer at the Nash stuff for seemingly containing less tungsten than some others – but I’ve used a lot of putties and I find Cling-On has the best balance between density and adhesion. It just gets the job done.
