Prologic Thermo Armour Sleeping Bags

Prologic continues its push back into the UK carp scene with a couple of corking sleeping bags…

If you’re anything like us, the sleeping bag rarely gets a proper airing, which means that it’s probably time to replace it with something a little, err, fresher? Luckily for us, Prologic has two new bags out, under the Thermo Armour banner, which have been designed to precisely fit your needs: the lightweight 3S and the belt-and-braces 4S. Here’s what makes ‘em good…

1. Quick Release Zips

No flimsy zips here. You can crash your way out of these bags without the fear of the zip sticking and leaving you having to bust out the worm to get to the rods. The zips are easily located, thanks to chunky, branded pullers that look like they’re built to last.

2. Bedchair Straps

There’s nothing more annoying than the sleeping bag spinning up around you when you turn over in bed! Luckily, Prologic has added retention straps to these bags, to stop that from happening. They simply clip under the bedchair, thanks to robust quick-release buckles and the whole bag can be folded up inside the bedchair for transit.

3. Compression Sack

If you don’t want to leave your sleeping bag strapped to the bedchair, then you can always pack it away in the handy compression sack that Prologic supplies with the Thermo Armour bags. Adjustable straps round the outside allow the bag to be compressed easily, forcing the air out and making for space-saving storage.

4. Rip-Stop Construction

The outer skin of both bags is made from 210T rip-stop polyester, which should ensure that you can’t tear the lightweight fabric. The 4S bag has a 100% waterproof nylon boot section, so you can wear muddy boots while lying on top of the bag, should you need to crash out, mid-session.

5. High-Tech Thermal Lining

Both bags are warm, and boast the latest thermal tech to keep you toasty. The 4S is rated for use down to -7 degrees, which is made possible thanks to a 440g/m2 hollow-fibre filling. Whilst it’s bloody warm, it’s not overly bulky, and that’s thanks to the rip-stop soft polyester internal lining which is both exceptionally warm but it’s a damn sight lighter than fleece. Thankfully, super soft fleece hasn’t been completely removed - the head area is stitched out with it, providing extra comfort. The 3S model is rated down to zero degrees with its single hollow-fibre filling, meaning it’s the perfect bag for the months of March to September. Chuck the Prologic Thermo Armour Cover over and you’ll immediately uprate the bags by a few degrees! “GIMME”: Thermo Armour 3S, £69.99; 3S Comfort (it’s slightly larger), £79.99; and 4S £119.99; prologicfishing.com
