RidgeMonkey Bivvy Lites

Nightlife has never looked so good...

RidgeMonkey’s just added three new models to their award-winning Bivvy Lite collection…

So, all myths aside, when even the US Army makes the switch from red light to green for retaining their night vision capabilities, it makes sense to take notice. For years we’d all assumed red was king, but actually it turns out that our eyes are more receptive to green and clarity, colour recognition and visual acuity are improved with it too; read in layman’s terms as better all round! The Ridgemonkey Bivvy Lites need no introduction and following on from the success of the VRH300 Headtorch, the green function, as well as some other serious upgrades have been added to three new models in the award-winning Bivvy Lite range: the Bivvy Lite Plus, Bivvy Lite Pro IR and the Bivvy Lite Elite IR. Nightlife on the bank has never looked so good.

1. Green is the new red!
As we’ve already let out of the bag, the three new models all sport the new green light function that was so well received on the head torches, which will give you improved clarity, colour recognition and sharpness without blowing out your night vision. Win, win. All models in the range still sport the old red light district vibe, as well as standard white if you really want the daylight touch.

2. Up, down and everything in-between
As well as the new green function, the higher spec Pro IR and Elite IR also have a brand new adjustability function, as opposed to the old two basic brightness settings, meaning that whatever your eyesight, or requirements you will be able to find a level that suits the job perfectly, be that blobbing a ‘D’ on a Choddy section without buzzing the link, or cooking up a midnight feast!

3. The power to go all night long!
Quite simply, the new models have all been spec’d up to provide up to 150hrs of light from a single 4hr charge, now by our reckoning, that is enough to provide you with continuous light for over a months worth of 48hr weekends’ angling in the depths of winter, i.e. 14hrs of darkness. What more could you possibly want? All the time in the world to read all those ‘Ology back issues and stoke the buzz.

4. Versatile, and stylish
As well as the classic and highly effective magnetic strip that allows the positioning of the Bivvy Lites anywhere and everywhere you could want inside your shelter, the three new models also come with a bankstick adaptor as part of the package. Why would you want that? Simple, subtle illumination on your spod mix bucket for late night baiting perhaps, or maybe the path to the rods is somewhat sketchy, or maybe you want to brighten up a five way curry social and a few beers without having to all wear head torches and continually blind each other! Hurrah!

5. There’s one for everyone!
Now with three models in the range, and a variety of specs, you can decide just how flash you want to be with your lighting system. From the Plus (£29.99) which offers a highly effective, and highly affordable bivvy light, to the mid-priced Pro IR (£39.99) to the top flight Elite IR (£49.99) that gives you everything, including a four light power indicator system as well as being sealed inside a fully dust and water resistant casing, there really is something for everyone.
