RidgeMonkey VRH150 Head Torch
RidgeMonkey’s original head torch has a spawned a newer, sleeker baby brother. He goes by the name of VRH150 and here’s what’s new and special…
1 A one-man wonder
The VRH150 is RidgeMonkey’s second head torch after the VRH300, which is an impressive but chunky offering. This new tool retains the triple-LED, dual-colour output with five beam options, but in a much smaller package.
2 No need for batteries
3 Just as rugged
Just like big bro, the VHR150 has an IP64 rating meaning it’s completely protected from dust ingress and is able to withstand water spray from all directions. It also maintains that neat dual-orientation feature, so you can put it on ‘upside down’ and still find an on/off button on the top.
4 Power
There are both white and green light options for maximum illumination or preserving your night vision. The maximum output is rated at 160 lumens, which is just 40 down on the bigger, more expensive model.
5 Simplicity of use
By their very nature, head torches are the things we reach for in the dark, so ease of use is crucial. The VHR150 has an adjustable headband, simple push-button operation and the ability to pivot the beam 90-degrees.
