Take a bow, Solar

Anything with the words ‘British made’ on it gives us a lovely tingly feeling, especially so when it looks and works as good as Solar’s new Limited Edition Bow-Loc Landing Net

Functional, beautiful, British made. The essence of Solar Tackle is premium, and from bite indicators and buzzer bars to rod pods and landing nets, the Kent-based brand have been making specialised stainless steel delights since the early 1980’s, but this latest offering is the epitome of those three key ingredients.

The new Limited Edition Bow-Loc is a combination of the best features of Solar’s flagship Bow-Loc and Bow-Lite landing nets. It’s now lighter in weight – some 11% lighter – meaning it’s easier to handle and move. It features their market-leading quick-release Bow-Loc system. And thanks to the stainless mesh clip and ultra light carbon arms – which, when in use, creates the most beautiful stretched ‘V’ shape, it’s bound to satisfy purists and fashionistas alike.

And just going back to that beautifully milled stainless spreader block, it’s now even cleverer: it features Solar’s unique, semi-automatic ‘push button, quick-release system’, but unlike its predecessor, the net arms release from the block itself, making the whole system even more user-friendly.

It comes complete with a 6ft, two-piece, full carbon pole, a carp-friendly green mesh, a water-resistant sleeve and is available in the ever popular 42” model only. Landing nets don’t come any more functional or cooler than this.

Setting up, breaking down

TO SET UP: Holding the arms 12-inches or so from the spreader block, simply pull the arms apart. The button will then automatically spring into the locked position.

TO TAKE APART: This is just as easy: push the button down on the spreader block to release the arms and then simply pull them from the block itself. That’s F1 pit stop quick!
