Ultimate mobility

Strip out everything you don’t need when day sessioning it. What’s left? This epic three-piece collection from Avid Carp...

Lightweight, mobile, functional. The essence of Avid’s new Day Session Kit is about making you travel light, and thanks to the simple two-rod sling, guest chair and Ruckbag, you have the perfect combination.

The internal part of the sling holds two rods with big pits, whilst the outside supports a net and spod/marker rod. The Ruckbag is fully compatible with Avid’s new luggage collection so you can add bits bags etc. to it. And the guest
chair very cleverly attaches to the Ruckbag. The result is package which makes for one speedy angler.

For your rods
The 200 x 30 x 19cm hardwearing sling will hold two rods – complete with 50mm butts and big pit reels – plus a landing net and additional rod

To hold your gadgets
Not only is the Ruckbag a healthy 35 x 48 x 25cm in size, but it’s also dead functional too thanks to being designed to accommodate other bit bag items from the Avid collection

For your comfort
To help maximise your mobility, Avid have included this lightweight lounger in the Day Session Kit. It’s only 3kgs but measures a big-bummed 48 x 43 x 60cm in size

The big questions

Doesn’t lightweight and compact equal cheap fabrics and discomfort?
In years gone by you might have had a point. But this is 2016, and this is Avid. They’ve combined premium quality 600d material with clever design and the outcome is a three-part collection which is strong, reliable and comfortable to carry.

The chair simply clips onto the front of the Ruckbag

The Ruckbag then: discuss.
It’s the first dedicated carp rucksack that allows you to carry a lightweight chair on your back at the same time. It’s brilliantly functional inside too, featuring the same sizing as their other carryalls, to provide the ideal bag for keeping organised on the bank. In terms of features, it’s packed. Fully padded walls for added protection; two large outer pockets that are compatible with Aivd’s Tuned pouches, accessory bags and Avid’s Carp Bait & Bits Tubs; D-ring loops on the rear for attaching unhooking mats; a large waterproof base; and two attachment hooks for securing a chair to the bag during transit.

The Ruckbag is made from a premium quality 600d material

Like all the luggage items in the Avid 2016 collection, these feature heavy-duty zips

Two heavy-duty clips hold it in place

Impressive. But what’s the rod sling like? Toilet paper thin to keep the weight down I’m guessing?
No! Of course not. It’s made from exactly the same 600d material as the Ruckbag. And while it may be light, that doesn’t mean it won’t protect your rods/reels. The fully padded interior accepts two made up rods and reels with ease, and has also been shaped to accept 50mm butt ring rods and comes with an adjustable shoulder strap for maximum comfort. Plus, on the outside you can strap your landing net and an additional rod should you require one.

Lightweight, durable and most of all, comfortable

Locking pins are included for maximum stability

And the chair…
Hauling a clunky chair is going to kill your mobile vibe. So Avid are helping to maximise your mobility with this lightweight lounger. It’s only 3kgs, but that doesn’t mean it’s uncomfortable. The padded seat cover, which is also made from the same premium quality 600d material, and hooped legs with locking pins combine to create a chair which assembles in an instant and is both comfy, stable and cleverly clips to the Ruckbag.

Webbing and Velcro hold the outside items in place during transport

The guest chair that clips to the rucksack? That sounds uncomfortable…
You may think that, but in reality it really isn’t. Thanks to two solid clips, the chair simply locks onto the Ruckbag and then the padded back, shoulder straps and waist belt ensure you’re comfortable, whether you’re walking a hundred-yards or one-mile.

The Two-Rod Sling also features an outside pocket to store a landing net plus an additional rod if required

It all sounds brilliant.
It most certainly is. The whole set – the sling, bag and chair – is sold for a penny under £100.00. How epic is that?! This truly is the most functional, affordable and well-thought out day session set-up CARPology.net has ever seen or used. Avid: we salute you.

The collection might be lightweight but that doesn’t mean it’s not hardwearing
