Vass-Tex 800 Camouflage Chest Waders

Just when you thought Vass couldn’t get any cooler…

You know Vass: They make the quality waders with the now-ubiquitous yellow straps that just about anyone who’s anyone in the big fish scene wears. Well, not content with dominating the uber-carpy wader game, Vass has raised the bar again by offering its high-tech waders in camo too: The Vass-Tex 800 Camo. Everyone else may just as well go home now, because that’s a game-changer right there.

So, we know that these waders have the classic yellow straps, but what else is going to persuade you to part with your hard-earned to join the carpiest cult in the game? Well, the Vass-Tex material that these waders are made from is thick and reassuringly robust, which just might mean that your nether regions will stay dry for more than the ten minutes your previous crisp-bag waders stayed hole-free for.

The boots are heavily cleated for unrivalled grip on a whole host of surfaces and all the seams are ruggedly stitched and taped for total peace of mind. There’s nothing we don’t like about these waders and they’re available from a UK 6 up to a 13, so most of you will find a set to fit.

Wading Advice

1. If you don’t know the venue, always take a landing net pole so you can check the depth/lakebed make-up as you wade.

2. If you’re leaving your rod on the bank and walking your rig down to the spot, then stuff a couple of old tea bags in the butt ring; this will stop the line spilling off the spool too quickly.

3. NEVER wear waders whilst in a boat.
