Warm And Soft... The Ultimate Carpy Garment!
The new Sherpa Fleece from outdoor attire brand, Fortis, brings old-school warmth and comfort
This thing instantly looks cosy, but is it actually warm?
It’s the soft deep pile, like sheep’s wool, that screams softness and comfort, but it’s not just about the looks. The 250g/m2 material is thoroughly modern and provides excellent heat retention as well as comfort.
Anything else about the design?
This is Fortis, so you know they’ve put a lot of thought into it! To keep biting winds at bay the Sherpa Fleece has a double-layer hood with draw cords, a high neckline and the half-zip at the front has a storm flap behind it. You also get elasticated cuffs to seal in warmth and a roomy kangaroo pouch for keeping your hands toastie or for holding essentials. The edge of the pouch bears Fortis’s signature patch embroidery too.
Is this an outer layer or is it designed to be worn with other garments?
You could certainly use it as an outer layer in dry conditions, but in the coldest of temperatures it’s the perfect mid layer, sitting over thermals and a T-shirt and under a waterproof jacket for the ultimate in protection and warmth. Winter comfort is all about the use of layers and this item will definitely help protect you from the elements.
What else do I need to know?
The Sherpa Fleece is only available at Fortis stockists and comes in sizes S to XXXL. It has a recommended retail price of £54.99.
