Wrap Yourself In Comfort

A trio of Wychwood products to keep you toasty this winter (think: a complete sleep system for just over £300)

Fleecy materials and luxurious padding abound in Wychwood’s aptly named Comforter line-up. The foundation of the range is the Comforter Flatbed, which is a six-leg bedchair that lies completely horizontally. Its two-tone colour immediately highlights just how much padding and support is on offer. The light-green outer rim and integral pillow give a cocoon-like feel for you to really sink into the fleecy main mattress. Though don’t worry, there’s no uncomfortable sagging here, thanks to Wychwood’s adjustable lumbar support which allows you to firm up the sleeping position if needed. Despite all that padding there are large articulating hinges that allow the bed to be folded away with a sleeping bag in situ.

Speaking of sleeping bags, there’s a matching Comforter version available which offers the perfect accompaniment to the bed. Designed to be lightweight yet warm, this bag is made from a 240T rip-stop material that offers breathability as well as durability and heat retention. It measures 2.1m by 90cm and weighs a far-from-bulky 3.75kg.

In keeping with the luxury feel of the bed, this sleeping bag is also fleece-lined on the inside and has a hood-like opening at the headend to get you snug but not suffocated. Both ends of the bag feature elasticated hoods to slip over your bed and there’s a fixing strap in the centre so you can’t take the bag with you when dashing out to hit a bite. Large crash zips on both sides also help with that aspect, while the four-chamber hollow-fill innards keep you warm.

If, however, you seek a bit more warmth then the Comforter Bed Cover is here to oblige. Designed to fit over your sleeping bag it adds an extra layer of protection from not only freezing temperatures but also dew and condensation thanks to its water-resistant upper material. Like the matching sleeping bag, the 240T ripstop upper is also breathable, which is an important attribute for warding off sweating, which will ultimately cool you down. And just like the sleeping bag, there’s also a four-chamber hollow-fill stuffing inside the cover which offers even more protection from plummeting temperatures.

Draughts are also kept at bay thanks to the extra width of the cover that acts like a skirt over your sleeping bag, protecting the vulnerable zip areas. The cover fixes to your bedchair thanks to an elasticated hood at the foot end and bedchair fixing loops. It measures 2.4m by 1.3m and weighs 1.3kg.

3 Things We Love About The Comforter Range

1. The 10kg bed hits the sweet spot between comfort and bulk.
2. That fleecy lining on the bag.
