How to stop your rig tangling and have a marker to bait to

And it's really easy to do...

Tangles can be a real pain to any angler and the worst thing is, if your rig gets tangled it is rendered pretty much useless! So it is vitally important that we do everything we can to eradicate any tangles wherever possible. PVA bags are a huge edge, not only does it give you a pile of attraction around your hookbait, but it also stops your rig from tangling. One thing that anglers have been using in PVA of late to great success are pop-ups. Yes, that’s right, pop-ups, and they’re proving highly effective. When your lead hits the lakebed, the pop-ups will hold your rig up for a few seconds and then once the PVA has dissolved, will lay your rig out nicely. But better still, the pop-ups will then float to the surface giving you a marker to catapult your free baits too. Very, very sneaky!

How to tie up a pop-up PVA bag

001 Take two highly visual pop-ups of your choice (something you will easily see on the water’s surface) – we recommend white.

002 Slide them into your tube of funnel web and when they slide to the bottom, pull them out in the PVA mesh.

003 Secure with an Overhand Knot, making sure that the mesh is as tight as you can get it).

004 Finally, hook the little mesh bag of pop-ups onto your rig and cast it out onto your chosen spot.

Perfect presentation!

PVA parachute with a pop-up!

When you make a Parachute Bag (three bottom baits in a mesh bag positioned into a triangle), instead of putting three bottom baits in, put in two bottom baits and a pop-up. When you attach this to your rig and cast out, not only do you get two bottom baits right next to your hookbait but you also get a visual pop-up as a marker to bait to… Genius!
