Set to impress

Chub are out to impress with their 2018 collection – and along with a healthier bank balance, you’ll also be a damn sight more comfortable in twenty-eighteen…

Chub Outkast Folding Barrow

Movability matters, but so does portability. And Chub’s brand-new Outkast Easy Folding Barrow is the best of both worlds: open, it’ll move a mountain of kit around, but when folded down, it’s compact for easy transportation and storage.

Chub has one long history when it comes to producing barrows. Heck, there’s a 50% chance you’ve owned one from the Northern brand at some stage (it seemed everyone had the original Transporter Barrow), and this new Transformer-esque model is one of their best.

Super strong high-tensile steel ensures years of abuse won’t break it, the large pneumatic wheel helps with movability, the adjustable side and front rails secure your kit and the reinforced handles offer great comfort.

But as we say, the real clever part is how you simply fold/unfold to turn it from a Fiesta boot-friendly size into a Land Rover equivalent.

Bankside Furniture

When it comes to seating, Chub do it better than most, and fresh for the backend of twenty-seventeen are three new chairs to suit every type of angler (and every size of wallet). Let us explain…

Chub Outkast Ez-Back Chair Mate

A chair which fits across your bedchair to stop your back aching whilst you watch the lake isn’t anything new. However, one which features an adjustable back is! Like all Chub chairs, this is based around a strong but lightweight frame and then covered in a soft, padded fabric, but the clever part is how you can simply undo two clips and then extend the back so that your shoulders, neck and head will always be supported for ultimate comfort.

Chub Outkast Shelter

Ditch that heavyweight three-rib, three-section framed bivvy you’ve owned since 2004 for Chub’s new super light Outkast Shelter. This two-rib offering has a four-section frame making it extremely compact for transportation and very lightweight. The 10,000mm hydrostatic head keeps the wet stuff out, whilst the almost flat back means you have seemingly acres of internal space.

Whilst you can pull the front sides right down to minimise the front opening, if you want total protection from (a) bugs or b) really wet conditions, then throw over either the Mozzy Wrap (£89.99) or the Overwrap (£99.99).

Chub Sat-A-Lite Range

This new collection has drawn upon all of that experience to produce an impressive and innovative range of new, practical headlamp solutions.

Bivvy Light RC Deluxe

This light’s genius is its dual usability. It has three brightness settings (up to 100 lumens), two light colour options (red and white), a magnetic attachment system and up to 8hrs “burn time” to keep you seeing in the dark. It will also double as a power pack should your iPhone (predictabably) run out of battery.

Along with a rechargeable 250 model (£49.99), Chub have launched three super powerful and very compact head torches. Whilst they all run on 3 x AAA batteries and come with three light settings, the only real difference is how much power they pump out - some even have a beam distance of 95m!
