Spotted Fin Catalyst

Kick-start your spring/summer campaign with a bait that makes catching a damn sight easier

‘Classic’ is becoming more about the quality of ingredients and construction as opposed to a heritage brand name. Luckily for Spotted Fin, they have both. Whilst the company maybe less than a year old, the management and field-testers (which includes bait boff, Frank Warwick) has a combined knowledge which accumulates almost 100 years, and that vast knowledge has been distilled down into their brand-new boilie: The Catalyst.

1. Frozen boilies

Spotted Fin’s a la carte boilie starts using the finest milk and hemp proteins with liquid vitamins, mineral, enzymes and yeasts which allow the bait to be digested easily. From there, they have the liquid additive which is exceptionally clever and complex. Each batch takes Spotted Fin four weeks to make and involves slowly blending active liquids, probiotic yeasts plus enzymes and other natural sugars. The liquid leaches quickly from each bait, leaving a halo of attraction around the area. The boilies are available in 15 and 18mm round baits, 15x12 and 18x12mm dumbbells or sold mixed together. “GIMME”: Prices start from £12.00 a kilo moving to £6.25 for larger orders; spottedfin.com

2. Natural Pop-Ups

Designed to mimic the main foodbait which washes out very quickly once submerged. “GIMME”: £6.75

3. Food Dip

Made from that same four-weeks-to-distill liquid which goes into the boiled food, the Food Dip can be used for glugging hookbaits and pellets to inclusion within Stick mixes. “GIMME”: £9.00 for 250ml

4. Wafters

The critically-balanced hookbait is a ubiquitous trend this summer. So don’t waste time trimming parts of the hookbait off or adding milligrams of putty – instead, opt for these semi-buoyant, perfectly round hookers. “GIMME”: £6.75

5. Hardened Hookbaits

Having issues with nuisance fish or crayfish? Then purchase a tub of these: made from the same base mix and liquids as the main food, but just beefed up a tad. “GIMME”: £6.75
