Spotted Fin TurningPoint Hooks

Launched in March of this year, new angling brand, Spotted Fin, is the result of Managing Director Pele Johnson’s idea and concept to try and provide anglers with something sometimes different to the norm, at the correct price point, but without compromising quality or performance.

A standard statement that you’d expect a new brand to give you might argue? But with the impressive development strategy placed by the Spotted Fin over the last two years prior to launch, it would seem that the Hertfordshire-based company have indeed placed more than an adequate resources into fulfilling this desire.

Various bait-based products have been steadily released onto the market, items which have now been accompanied by the development of a terminal tackle range.

Entering at the sharp end of the range so to speak, are the new TurningPoint hooks. A tackle item so vital to our fishing approach and the number of fish we land that production is not always undertaken so soon by new tackle companies. But as a necessity item of tackle, it certainly shows the confidence of Spotted Fin with their products, ethos and establishment of the brand.

Sticky sharp straight from the packet, the TurningPoint hooks leave you with no doubt that this confidence is not just well-founded, it’s a certainty. There have been some sharp hooks to land upon the Review Desk here at ‘Ology and the TurningPoints are easily on par with anything we’ve seen and used in the past.

There are four main patterns of hook within the range: the SF Curved, which incorporates a slightly in-turned eye for increased turning speed and is available in both barbed and barbless versions. Again, available in both barbed and barbless there’s the SF Wide Gape, featuring a super-sharp beaked point that’s less likely to blunt or dull when fishing over gravel etc.

And finally, to complete the present range, there is the SF Longshank pattern and the SF Straight Point, an aggressive pattern formed from ultra-strong wire that will appeal to those fishing weedy or snaggy situations.

Each pattern is nicely finished with the SF-Black coating and available in sizes 4, 6 and 8 with the exception of the barbed versions of the SF Curved and Wide Gape which are also available in size 10.
